Lawrenceville Hamfest 2005
The Alford Memorial Radio Club Hamfest, better known as
the Lawrenceville Hamfest, was held this year November 5th and 6th at its usual
location, Lawrenceville-Gwinnett County Fairgrounds. The weather this year was
absolutely perfect. The crowd was enormous and the bone yard was huge. I spotted
65 operators that work the NGDRT on Thursday evenings, but was able to get
pictures of only a few. As usual, a few of us hooked up at the Cracker Barrel
Restaurant on Jimmy Carter Blvd for breakfast, on the way to the Fest and had a
great time, as always. I hope that everyone who attended this year had as good a
time as I did. Those that didn't make it, missed a good one. mike/k4ais

Breakfast May 8, 2005
The North Ga. Disaster Relief Team breakfast get together at Red Top Mtn
Lodge at Red Top Mtn State Park, in Bartow County, Ga. was well attended and
everyone had a good time. We were especially glad to have Lin Dollar, KF4ZGC and
his wife Norma with us, visiting from Hurdle Mill, NC. Lin is the net manager
for the Sun Belt Service Net that runs Mon thru
Fri on 3.990 Mhz starting at 8:00 pm EST Even though it was mothers day, we had
a good turnout and, as usual, the food was good.
